{ Narrative session} : Sunrise at Ettalong Beach

As I stood on the shore of the beach, camera in hand, I couldn't help but be captivated by the beauty of the moment unfolding before me. The soft light of the winter sunrise painted the sky in hues of pink and gold, casting a timeless glow over the sand and sea. The sounds of laughter and the joyous shouts of children filled the air, creating a symphony of happiness that warmed my heart on that chilly morning.

Beth and her family had chosen this special place for their session, a place filled with memories of days gone by and moments treasured in their hearts. As her children ran along the shoreline, their breath visible in the crisp air, I couldn't help but marvel at the connections shared between this family. The love and laughter that surrounded them was palpable, and it was a privilege to capture it through my lens.

The decision to choose a sunrise session was perfect, as the soft light and stillness of the water created a magical backdrop for our time together. The kids were unfazed by the cold, their energy and excitement infectious as they played along the shore, building sun castles and kicking a footy back and forth. And when our session came to an end, we savoured hot chocolate at a nearby cafe, the perfect end to a perfect morning.

I am constantly amazed by the power of photography to capture moments and memories that will be treasured for generations to come. As a family photographer, I am honored to be able to document these precious moments, creating images that will serve as a visual legacy for years to come. Whether it's a winter sunrise on the beach or a quiet moment at home, each session is a unique opportunity to celebrate the connections and love that bind us together.

What made this session even more special was Beth's choice to add a touch of nostalgia and experimentation to our time together. Opting for film photography, she chose a unique technique ( leak film ) that added unexpected pops of colour and light to the images, creating a stunning visual effect that perfectly captured the whimsy and joy of the day. Film photography has a way of creating images that are timeless and full of character, each frame telling a story all its own.

So, as I reflect on our winter session together, I am reminded once again of why I love what I do. The ability to freeze these fleeting moments in time, to capture the light and love that surrounds us, is a gift that I treasure every day. And I look forward to the many more sessions and memories that lie ahead, ready to be captured and shared with those who hold them dear.
